VetIQ Stool Repel tablets have been specially formulated to help deter this behaviour by making the dogs own stool unpalatable to eat. VetIQ Stool Repel contains Oleoresin Capsicum, a lachrymatory agent, which deters a puppy or dog from eating its own stool by causing a mild irritation to the eyes and a mild burning sensation if the stool is eaten. It also contains the enzyme, Alpha-Amylase which breaks down starches, improving the animal's digestive performance. Coprophagia is a behavioural condition with puppies and dogs consuming their own faeces. It is a common habit and can be distressful for the pet owner and unhygienic for the pet.
Suitable for dogs and puppies aged 12 weeks and over. Give one tablet per 10kg of bodyweight daily for 2 weeks after coprophagia is first observed. If results are not satisfactory, double the quantity of tablets and administer for 2 more weeks. As a prevention, continue to feed 1 tablet daily. Increasing the physical activity of your pet and feeding a high quality diet may also assist in stopping this behaviour.
The popular Deter Coprophagia Tablets are no longer manufactured, but this is a suitable alternative.
Brewers yeast, Alpha-anylase, Oleoresin capsicum.

When we rescued a dog from Cyprus he had a habbit of eating his own poo. I searched online for a solution to this issue. Stool Repel from VioVet appears to be working.

I need to break the habit of our puppy eating her doggy mates stools in the garden. Do I give to her dog mate instead until we manage to break the cycle?
Yes, this product should be given to the dog that the stools that are ingested are being defaecated from. It will work to make the stools of the dog who takes the supplement more repellant in taste.
It is also important to carry out good behavioural training regarding this. Recalling your pup and provided alternate positive objects, such as a treat, when your pup looks like they are going to perform the behaviour.

My rescued dog eats horses Pooh & human pooh can these tablets work at all
These tablets will only affect your dog's own faeces. It will not affect how they eat other animal's faeces, you will need to behaviourally train your dog to prevent this.

Our puppy eats the stools left by our four cats in our garden. Is it safe to give Stool Repel to the cats to deter the puppy? I can't see any warnings on the box.
Unfortunately
the product is targeted at dogs as it is more difficult to get cats to
eat this type of product and the ingredients that it contains as
they are very fussy eaters. It would be difficult to get the level of
active ingredients into the cats diet to deter the dog from eating the
faeces. Therefore it is only advised to use this product in dogs.

Can Stool Repel be used in felines or is there another product or solution?
I am not clear if you want to stop your dog from eating your cat's faeces, or you want to stop the cat from eating its own faeces. Either way the product would have to be given to your cat in its food. The product is unlikely to be harmful to your cat, but is not normally given to cats and I have no experience of this being done. Personally I cannot recommend it, but you could try. Cats are so fussy it might not be possible anyway.
On a general note, many dogs love to eat cat faeces and although it seems to do them no harm at all, it is pretty disgusting to us. Usually the only option is to organise things in such a way that the dog does not have free access to the cat's toileting area. Cats very rarely eat their own faeces and if this is happening, I think your cat should be checked out by a vet for a digestive problem (such as exocrine pancreatic insufficiency). This is not normal behaviour for a healthy cat.
