I bought these due to reviews saying fussy dogs were ok with these. My fussy dog definitely isn't interested and my labrador that eats anything even turned his nose up at them and he never does that.
Waste of money in my opinion

This has helped Jess, a 13 year old border collie, so much that my husband has started to give it to his working collie. They enjoy it and move very well with it

The chews are very palatable - she looks forward to her “ treat” each day - and they really seem to help her stiffness in the evenings.

I have a 3kg chihuahua that has just undergone surgery on his luxating patella and due to have the other leg done in 6 weeks time once this one has healed, would it be good to put him on this supplement to help prevent arthritis in old age, he’s only 4 years old
The patella is found close to the knee joint and so issues involving it can also involve the joint itself. Your vet may recommend supportive joint supplements to help reduce the chance of arthritic problems becoming an issue in future, so yes this is a good idea. You are best discussing it with your vet though to be certain as the need for a supplement may vary depending on the severity of the luxation and the surgery involved.

My dogs are terriers 5kg and 6.3kg is it safe to give these to them & if so what dosage? One has recently been diagnosed with renal problems & is on renal food.
Many thanks
Yes these are safe in your dogs of weight 5kg and 6.3kg. Any pets under 15kg will need to be given 1/2 a chew daily.
You should check with your vet though that a joint supplement is safe in your pet with renal disease. The dose will be smalll enough that it shouldn't impact the diet, but in some cases of severe kidney disease then any addition to the diet can be a problem.

Hi, I have a couple of questions…
My dog has been having these chews for years, however she has just been diagnosed with CKD, are these chews still suitable for her?
Also, why is sorbitol powder included in the ingredients? I always thought that sorbitol was toxic to dogs.
Thanks.
This depends on the severity of your dog's CKD and how your vet is treating it. If they have advised a special veterinary diet then the chews may interfere with this, it is best checking with them first.
Sorbitol is not toxic to dogs, you may be thinking of Xylitol which is toxic to dogs in large enough quantities. Sorbitol is used here as a sweetener to improve palatability.

Is it ok to give my dog 1 yumove & 1 Joint force chew? He was on 2 yumove cos weighs 16kg but he seems to be better on 1 of each. He eats joint force without any problem but often spits out the yumove
YuMove and Joint Force share many similar ingredients but are not identical. They have not been tested together so it is unknown how beneficial they will be if used 50:50 in this way. I recommend sticking to either Joint Force or YuMove if possible but I cannot see any reason that using both in this way would cause any harm.

can these be used instead of your joint force tablets or should I use them as well as the joint force?
Yes these chews are intended to be used instead of our Joint Force tablets. However our original tablets contain one extra ingredient, Boswellia, so if you can give the original tablets instead then I would advise using these over the chews. Our chews are mainly for pets that struggle to take the normal tablets as they are more palatable.

What is the best age to start these? I have a 7 year old golden retriever who isn’t showing any signs of discomfort yet.
These can be given from any age providing the dog has been weaned onto hard food.

What dosage would my dog need? She weighs 33.5kg. What’s the difference in the dosage between tablets and soft chews, not that she actually chews treats she’s too much of a gannet
Hi Lizzie,
Thanks for having a look at Joint Force :-)
As she's not too far over the 30kg for one chew per day, you could feed either 1 or 1.5 soft chews per day for long term use. If she hasn't been on a joint supplement before, generally we'd advise doubling the feeding amount to 2 or 3 chews per day for the first 4-6 weeks and then drop down to the maintenance amount.
The chews are twice the strength of the tablets (so if you went for the tablets, I'd recommend 4-6 tablets for a few weeks, then reduce to 2-3 per day) and the chews do not contain Boswellia Serrata because in chew form, the plant extract has quite a strong smell.
In terms of cost per day, the maintenance amount of 1 or 1.5 chews per day would cost you £0.28-£0.36, and if you went for the tablets, 2 or 3 tablets a day would cost you £0.11-£0.22 per day. So if she's not at all fussy then the tablets would save that bit extra.
I've got a husky who's a gannet too - I just break them up into smaller chunks so he has more chance of enjoying the chews :-D or I crumble them on top of his and my terrier's dinner and they love that too.
I hope this is helpful!
Kind regards,
Danielle

My staffie is 20 kg is 1chew the correct amount to give her ?
Hi Robert,
Yes that's the right amount for her :-) Dogs between 15-30kg can have one chew per day. You can split it and give half morning and evening to spread the support through the day. If she is getting on really well with it you could reduce the amount to 1/2 a chew per day and see how she does.
Kind regards,
Danielle.

Id like to know what is in this product? What are the compounds in each tablet?
Hi Nicola,
The composition for Joint Force Chews for Dogs is as follows:
Corn Starch, Sucrose, Sorbitol Powder, Glycerine, Rice Bran, Flavouring, Caramel, Sodium Ascorbate, Calcium Propionate, Potassium Sorbate, Deionised Water, Rapeseed Oil.
Information on ingredients can be found in the description box of our website, below the feeding guide and general information - we're hoping to update the layout slightly so they're quicker to find in future :)
Kind regards,
Danielle.

Why is Boswellia Serrata omitted from the ingredients in the Joint Force Soft Chews but is in the original Joint Force tablets?
Hi Elaine,
Thank you for your question,
When formulating our Joint Force Soft Chews, we wanted them to have the maximum palatability possible so that even very fussy dogs are able to enjoy and benefit from a joint supplement. Unfortunately when added to the new semi-moist formula, we found the Boswellia Serrata to be too overpowering, however we have kept all of the other 8 ingredients the same as in our tablets to provide high quality joint support.
I hope this helps,
