We were recommended this product for our elderly cat who has been diagonised with kidney disease . He has been taking this supplement daily for over 2 weeks now and we can already see a massive change in him. His appetite has returned fully, head tremors he was experienced have now stopped and he is a much more contented cat and more active as before he was very lethargic. would highly recommend as the results and knowing he is a lot happy is worth every penny of this product. we are ALL much happy indeed.

My cat needs this to prevent her becoming hypokalaemic due to her heart medication. Recent potassium is normal.

This is an excellent product. Sadly ,my cat has Hypokalemia and this keeps her alive. Half the price charged by my vet and speedy delivery. She also likes the taste so very easy to administer.

is it suitable for cats with hyperthyroidism (over active thyroid)?
There is no reason this supplement cannot be used in a cat with thyroid disease. It is intended for use in cats with chronic renal failure or other disorders associated with low levels of blood potassium. Therefore it is best used only alongside advice from your vet to ensure it is appropriate.

My 16 year old cat has hyperthyroidism and is on Hill’s y/d. His recent blood test showed low potassium. Would this supplement be suitable? I’m unsure if the ingredients could produce iodine as it’s not a pure potassium supplement. Thank you.
Kaminox is intended as a supportive supplement for renal disease. If your pet also has kidney issues then it may help, however it should only be used alongside your vets advice. It is advised you contact your vet for this information to be safe.

What is the difference between your 2 products Kaminox Potassium and Amino Acid Supplement for cats and Renakal Potassium & Amino Acid Liquid for Cats & Dogs ?
The two products are made by different manufacturers, however they have the same active ingredients. Below is a useful infographic on the two products that should answer your question:

Since starting Kaminox supplement 2 weeks ago my cat has developed signs of Hyperesthesia. Not attacking her rear end but just twitching and looking towards her tail.Could there be be a connection?
Kaminox is a supplement and so there are no listed side effects, it is generally a very safe product. However it should be used only alongside veterinary advice, the potassium levels in your pet in particular need to be carefully managed whilst giving the product.
The switching and turning around signs you describe are more commonly related to an itch. It is worth ruling out fleas or other causes of itching in your cat too.

Hi, can you please explain how to read the additives - is it mcg/kg of product? So how much then in 1 dose? Trying to calculate the exact dose of vitamins in 1ml
thank you!
The Additives are in written in millograms of ingredient per kilogram (or litre) of Kaminox liquid. For example, Vitamin B1 is 500mg/kg so there are 30mgs of Vitamin B1 in a 60ml bottle of the Kaminox.

this looks easy to give as its a liquid so can i give it to my dog with kidney failure?
Yes, you can give this product to your dog. Depending on the degree of hypokalemia (low blood potassium) the usual starting dose would be about 2ml/5kg two to three times a day. You should check with your vet though if this would be a suitable dose for your dog.

We have a 7 year old Norweigan Forest Cat that was diagnosed with CKD stage 2, about 2 months ago. He is also borderline Proteinurea and borderline anaemic.
He has Semintra once daily to control the Proteinurea and approx once a month Vit B12 injection which does increase his appetite. And blood and urine tests every 6 weeks or so.
Kaminox Supplement liquid has been suggested to us by friends.
Can we administer Kaminox supplement to a cat taking Semintra?
Do l need a prescription to purchase Kaminox supplement?
Grateful & Thanks in advance, Tim Spurgeon
be safe to give with Semintra?
You do not need a prescription for Kaminox and it should be safe to give alongside Semintra- it may be very helpful. However unless your cat has low potassium levels when blood tested you should not give Kaminox. It is quite likely given your cats reduced kidney function that he will subsequently have a reduced blood potassium level but I would advise checking with your vet before starting on Kaminox.

Could you let me know what dosage a 14 year old cat should have? Many thanks.
The amount to feed is based on the cats body weight. The guidelines are to administer 2ml per 4.5kg of body weight 1-3 times daily or as recommended by your veterinary surgeon.
