Why Worry about fleas?
Fleas can cause more than just irritation in dogs; they can lead to flea allergy dermatitis (FAD) or even anaemia (if it’s a severe infestation). Some pets develop allergies to flea saliva, which means even a few bites can lead to severe itching and sore skin infected fleas can also transmit tapeworm if swallowed during grooming. All very nasty stuff.
What’s more, fleas don’t just bite your furry friend, they bite humans too and can infest your home causing irritation to you and your family. Did you know it can take months to get rid of a infestation in your home as only 5% of fleas lice on tour pet, the other 95% are in your home environment as eggs, larvae and pupae.
One application of advantage, the vet-recommended flea treatment, with its fuss-free pipette application gets to work within one day and remains effective for up to four weeks. Advantage is able to kill fleas through contact, no biting required. *

I have been using a similar well known product for years & it has been less & less effective to the point where all of my animals have been infested despite regular applications. I decided to swap to this & have been amazed at the results - we are flea free at last!!

Purchased Advantage for a friend's kittens. Previous flea treatment had not resolved the problem. Flea load after application quickly virtually nil. Subsequent application resolved the problem.

How many pipettes do you use to treat a 2kg rabbit?
One tube should be applied to cats, dogs and pet rabbits weighing less than 4 kg. This dose will provide protection against flea infestation for 4 weeks on the dog, 3–4 weeks on the cat and up to 1 week on the rabbit.

Hi can I use advantage flea spot on for my dog that is breast feeding her puppies
Studies on pregnant and lactating bitches, queens and dogs together with their offspring are limited. Evidence so far indicates that no adverse effects are to be expected in these animals. However without definitive proof it is not advised to use Advantage in a lactating dog. You can use products like Frontline Plus safely instead.

Is the advantage flea treatment suitable for a 4 month old kitten, I have 2 older cats that I use it on & don't really want to be buying 2 different products
Thanks
Yes Advantage is safe for use in a 4 month old kitten, it is suitable for kittens 8 weeks or older. You will need to weigh your cat to determine what product to purchase, the small cat <4kg version or the large cat >4kg version. It is highly likely your 4 months old kitten will currently need the small cat <4kg version.

Would this be suitable for a fairly large fully grown Guinea Pig? Thanks
This product is not licensed for use in Guinea Pigs and so we cannot advise on this use. You can use Guinea Pig licensed medications like the Beaphar Anti-Parasite Spot On, this will protect against fleas as well as other parasites.
